Based out of Detroit, home to a company called Fusion 4x4 comes to us the American made 2.5 ton steering setup. If you have done your research then I'm sure that by now you have found that running stock steering components on your new Ultimate Dana 60 axles is a slim to "none" chance. Due to the massive differential on the new axles the offset on your stock steering is too small to allow the tie rod enough clearance to clear the differential. Fusion 4x4 fixes these issues with..........Snippet from there website. The Fusion Rock Series Tie Rod was designed to be the strongest Jeep JK tie rod on the market. We use super-sized components to put an end to bent tie rods. Massive 1-1/4" shank dog leg ends are paired with 1.75" diameter solid 7075 T6511 aluminum. 7075 is popular in off-road racing due to its "memory." If you hit the tie rod hard enough to make it flex, the bar will return to straight. The aluminum is machined on a CNC lathe for exacting tolerences. - Fits all JKs, including stock wheels, no drilling or reaming - Cartridge ends are replaceable - Cartridge ends can be flipped for those running a flipped tie rod - Requires a 1.75" steering stabilizer clamp - Strap wrench is recommended for ease of tightening jam nuts Be sure to also check out their tie rod clamps made specifically for the 2.5 ton steering if you're planning on running hydro-steering or a steering stabilizer pictured below. Fusion 4x4 manufactures many other products in house and carries products from other manufacturers that meet their high expectations for the off-road community. Thanks for reading! So you've decided to upgrade your axles and dump the wimpy Dana 30 front 44 rear or decided to go next level with your build and liquidate your Rubicon axles to make room for some real beef Dana 60's. There's a little problem with that idea, being that if you upgrade to dana 60 axles you can no longer run your stock drivelines. Not that you would want to try to make the stock ones work anyway.
Here is where Adamsdriveshaftoffroad.com comes into play. During my Jeep build I reached out to the guys at Adams and spoke with the owner operator James Adams. He sent me a set of Front and Rear 1350 drivelines. More than enough beef to keep your brand new dana 60's happy and spinning properly. If you want American made and the best warranty in the game than Adams is the only decision. Here is a little snippet from their website.... 2007 to 2016 Jeep JK Wrangler's 2 or 4 Door Models up to a 6" Lift. These driveshafts are custom made so if you have altered the Rear differential, or transfer case example: [Dyna track housings, Spicer Ultimate 60's or Atlas Transfer cases] we can accommodate you. We will just need to know this Information after you have ordered. We do know most of the measurements of your JK, but there are some we do not due to the many different size of lifts, and differentials. Please e-mail us, the Year, Make, Model, Lift Size, and T-Shirt Size or call us at 702-568-5680 between the hours of 8:00 to 5:00pm Pacific time Monday thru Friday after you have purchased the Item. If we don't have your Measurement we might need you to get us a measurement. You could use this measurement chart below to get the measurement. These Severe Duty Solid 1350 CV Driveshaft will work up to 44" Tall Tire's. After that you would need to go with our [Insane Duty 1410 Solid U-joint Series] that is coming soon. Bigger tires adds more Weight, Traction, and more Pressure on your Drivetrain Components like your Driveshafts, Axles, Gears, Etc so you want to make sure you are buying the right driveshaft for your Jeep. I decided to go with Dana ultimate 60's. Having swapped out my stock running gear with rubicon axles last December I knew that if I would continue to increase the stakes it would be time to look at dana 60s. I had had two options... 1. Build the rubicon axles I already have. 2. Sell my rubicon's to another Jeeper and use that money plus the cost to build my rubicon's to buy dana 60's. Every one told me build tons etc. etc. I personally do not have the skill to build tons and at the end of the day I would have paid the same amount if someone built them for me. I would still be left with "junk yard tons" so to speak. I ultimately chose the dana ultimate 60s due to the "village idiot" plug and play fitment. The ultimate 60's are the only real complete out of the crate setup best bang for your buck. Full float rear, dual piston calipers front and rear, two gear configurations. What more could you ask for? Of course you could go with the other guys but to get everything the ultimates offer straight from the crate, your looking at spending thousands more! I sold my rubicon axles to someone in need and quickly ordered my ultimate dana 60's. Within three days they showed up to my house. I had the driver push them off onto a waiting trailer and off to the garage I went to get started on the swap. I used 4 semi truck jack stands to level out the Jeep and quickly got started on bolting everything back together. The toughest part of the swap in my opinion was the size and weight of these axles! My previous rubicon axles could be knocked off the jack stand if accidentally bumped them. Me being a one man team during this swap I had to use a mallet to inch my axles into position while supported by the jack stands. Everything went in flawlessly wheel speed sensors plugged right in no "christmas lights" on the dash. The one thing that poped up that I did not expect is that the e-brake cables are a bit short. You will need to order longer ones depending on your size of lift. Feel free to comment or ask questions. This is my first blog and is very minimal on information. Thanks!
